History and Experience

U.S.-based and veteran-owned, Metamagnetics formed in 2009 after a spinout from the Northeastern University Center for Microwave Magnetic Materials and Integrated Circuits (CM3IC). We're now a fully operational designer/manufacturer and worldwide supplier of microwave and millimeter-wave components based on advanced materials, metamaterials, and multiferroics. Our extensive industry experience includes working with the Navy, Army, Air Force, DARPA, and most major U.S. defense prime OEM contractors.

Our mission is to optimize existing systems and components or enable entirely new ones by replacing out-of-date, inefficient devices and materials with new state-of-the-art concepts and compositions. Our team has routinely demonstrated that utilizing the correct materials within a RF/microwave signal chain can directly and dramatically impact the power and noise generation/handling capabilities of a system, and enable microwave system designers to make a true “quantum leap” into the future.
